This pie was delicious and easy to make. I am a great lover of traditional pies, as is the family, so we all loved this. I have two comments regarding the recipe; firstly that in general I only use fresh peas in my cooking, and this recipe came out far too early for fresh peas, so I had to resort to frozen ones in the end. (must say it was still great and I am almost converted to the merits of frozen peas!)

Secondly, the combination of a hearty pie with the summery feel of peas and being a May recipe could be a problem if the weather were as it should be at this time of year. With the terrible cold May that we had, it was actually a most welcome dish to eat.
